Hubert Plessis

Hubert Plessis: An eclectic artist, initially involved in high-level athlete training, he decided to turn to music. Having started with the accordion by performing in public during dances and galas, it is quite natural that he joins the universe of the stage within the French song group Les Vieilles Pies. For thirteen years he toured France, playing in numerous festivals, recording five albums. He opened up to Klezmer, Gypsy, Irish, Reunion and Gypsy jazz and thus began the art of arrangement and composition.
In 2009, he created the duo Valse with Sirba, whose repertoire consists of traditional Klezmer and swing waltzes by Gus Viseur and Jo Privat. It’s thanks to her encounter with the singer Liliane Robman, from the Jewish diaspora, will make his own the musical universe of Yiddish and Judeo-Spanish singing. This adventure will lead in 2019 to a collaboration project with Greek and Arab musicians. During his tour of the musical world, he discovers the tango and the bandoneon, an inseparable instrument of this music, which he adopts with talent. He perfected himself with the great maestros: Juan José Mosalini, William Sabatier, Marcelo Mercadante... Three formations will be born of this passion: the Oscar Delgar, quintet of tango nuevo, with original compositions; Cuchicheo, traditional tango trio; and Bien Nuestro, a trio bandoneon and guitars.
