Organized since 1998 by the City Hall,  Tarbes Tourist  and the Association Tangueando Ibos, the Festival Tarbes en Tango is today one of the largest Tango festivals in the world.

It gathers for 9 days, the great masters of the Argentine Tango, dancers and musicians, the tangueros from the four corners of the planet and the general public.
Around a varied, eclectic and quality program, dance, music and Argentine culture remain the essential elements of the Festival Tarbes en Tango.

During the day, a sensual and intoxicating atmosphere invades the streets of the city with milongas and tango aperitifs at the terraces of cafes.
In the evening, the most prestigious venues of the city, the Massey Garden, the Théâtre des Nouveautés and the Halle Marcadieu host shows, concerts and balls, sublimated by a hundred artists, many of whom came especially from Argentina.

Tango is also a culture that can be shared through films, exhibitions, conferences, readings etc...
Festival-goers who wish to practice Argentine Tango can register for workshops in dance (beginner to professional), instruments or singing .

Conviviality remains the watchword of this Festival and the city’s merchants (hotels, bars, etc.) are heavily involved in this aspect.

The organizers and technicians are delighted with the dedication and investment of some 100 loyal and passionate volunteers who contribute to the success of the Festival.
The international dimension of the Festival is also affirmed through the partnership with the Argentine Ministry of Tourism.

Over the years, a small part of Argentina has settled in Tarbes:
