Xavier was born in 1988 in St Brieuc, Bretagne. Between the ages of 9 and 14, he studied synthesizer then jazz piano with Xavier le Favennec at Ploec-sur-liè's cantonal school, where he also took part in pop and jazz workshops. In 2006, he entered St Brieuc's national music school and studied jazz under Jean-Mathias Pietri and Jean-Philippe Lavergne. That same year, he graduated from high school with distinction and established himself in Toulouse in order to study jazz at the Mirail University and the Toulouse Conservatoire. He obtained his musicology degree and musical studies diploma in 2009. There he was able to participate in residencies with Andy Emler, Guillaume de Chassy; master classes with Kenny Barron, Bill Carother, Ari Hoenig as well as training courses with Baptiste Trotignon, Franck Avitabile, Laurent Cugny amongst many others. Thereafter, he started teaching (within associations and music schools) and performing with several acts (Wen quartet, Pianacco, the Montauban jazz ensemble,..) In 2009 he joined the «Vocal conferences» choir conducted by Claire Suhubiette and initiated the Wen quartet project with Carla Gaudré and Simon Portefaix. In 2010, he fell in love with tango and formed the duo Pianacco with Hubert Plessis on bandoneon, which in 2012 evolved into the Oscar Delgar quintet. He studied with argentino pianist and bandoneonist Fernando Maguna which gave him the opportunity to participate in the Tipica in Toulouse.
