LIBER ‘ TANGO, « Tribute to Gary Burton »
In 2000, four young musicians passionate about Astor PIAZZOLLA’s Tango Nuevo meet to form the Quatuor caliente. Very quickly, the band gives its first concerts in France and abroad and then expands its repertoire with pieces by Horacio Salgan, Juan José Mosalini, Pablo Ziegler and Gustavo Beytelmann, who composes for him «otras Voces», a work created at the Abbaye de l'Epau with vibraphonist Vincent Maillard.
Winner of the «Piazzolla Music Award» awarded to the Blue Note Jazz Club of Milan, this ensemble already has three records to its credit, registered for the Aeon/Harmonia Mundi label. Wishing to make live the instrumental tango, the Quatuor caliente presents you, with the vibraphonist Vincent Maillard
“LIBER “ TANGO”, a true tribute to the meeting of the Quintette d'Astor Piazzolla with the legendary Gary Burton!
This program testifies to their desire to make live the tango of our time with multiple colors and influences offering us with a rare strength the music of Buenos Aires.
With virtuoso vibraphonist Vincent Maillard, he finds the original formation of the Quintette opening the door to the rhythms, melodies, harmonies and accentuations of today’s world.
Strength and fragility, anger and love are expressed in this Argentine journey. Let yourself be carried!
