Dj of intense international activity, in America and in Europe with 11 tours at the end of 2022, Daniel Pereyra is recognized of the 5 worldwide references of musicalización and teaching to Tango Dj.
Born in Montevideo, having spent his entire professional career in Buenos Aires before travelling on international tours, he has been a Dj of the most important milongas porteñas: as a resident 2 years at the famous Viruta de Luis Solanas, 3 years at the Círculo Trovador, 1 year at the Salón Canning , 1 year at Club Gricel, 2 at Sueño Porteño, as well as occasional dj for Obelisco Tango, El Beso, Lo de Celia, La Ideal and more...
Between Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil and Europe, he has to his credit more than 2500 musicalizations, in more than 150 cities, including more than 50 festivals, marathons and international championships. Appointed artist by the Uruguayan government and recognized as a high-level talent by the French government to provide its activities in Europe until 2025, Daniel Pereyra is also an instructor approved by Cetba and the Ministry of Education and Culture of Buenos Aires City since 2012. Passionate about Music and History, he constantly pursues his research, and continues to train regularly even today. Tango diplomaturas at the University of Economics (2022), Instituto Argentino de tango (2021), Cetba (2020), Universidad Tres de Febrero de Buenos Aires (2017). And wishes to transmit and share his love of Tango with the public.
Its caracteristical musicalización is based on the choice of the best of the most important orchestras of the 30s to 50s, but without leaving aside the novelty of quality for the dance. With him, no ups and downs in an evening, from beginning to end, Daniel keep the milongueros caught in an atmosphere always with huge incitation to dance, with permanent contrasts from one tanda to another, balancing perfectly when each orchestra is suitable, in what intensity of rhythm, all in harmony, seizing the right moment where the instrumental or the sung suits, plus a subtle choice of cortinas. He observes and feels the dancefloor, but even more, he knows how to create and take you into the atmosphere he offers you : a precision work as you rarely see with energy and passion, all night long.
You could also meet Daniel Pereyra during a musical "charla", where he will share with you the universe of Tango Rioplatense seen from the inside, the styles, and tell unknown anecdotes about the great orchestras and singers, that are neither in books nor on the web.
