Bárbara Palmer (Argentina/Buenos Aires)
She currently directs and provides music for Milonga del Puerto and DolceVita milonga in Valencia and the Dolce Tango Marathon.
She imprints her tango identity on every session. Traditional orchestras take centre stage, with all the emotion and intensity possible. Great importance and care is given to the curtains, which are coherent and fun, even danceable.
She has extensive experience as an organiser and musical director of milongas. Since 2005, she has been involved in La Milonga Madrid, El Apronte and Re Menor in Madrid, and Pensalo Bien in Valencia (the latter two were active until the pandemic). She has also been invited as a tango DJ to various tango events such as festivals, marathons and gatherings in Spain and Europe.
She has devoted time to listening to and studying tango music, participating in seminars and gatherings for this purpose and crafting her training (which also includes research) which, in this case, as in many others, is never-ending.
She combines this activity with that of tango dancer and teacher, thus completing the whole of this art and its culture.
