Augusto Ezequiel Castaño Cevilan (Alias Augusto Freeman) & Leonardo Sardella

The duo formed by Augusto Ezequiel Castaño Cevilan and Leonardo Sardella brings together two complementary visions of contemporary Argentine tango, at the crossroads of tradition, physical exploration and contemporary stage expression. Both originally from Argentina and active on the international scene, they develop a deeply musical, organic and conscious tango, where the dialogue between bodies takes precedence over the reproduction of fixed forms.

Augusto Ezequiel Castaño Cevilan, a dancer, choreographer and teacher based in Paris, is renowned for his work on the biomechanics of movement, musicality and body organisation. A disciple of great masters such as Alejandra Mantignan and Carlitos Pérez, champion of Tango Escenario in Vichy and semi-finalist of the Mundial de Tango in Buenos Aires, he is the creator of the Tango Free Motion system and the author of Tango por biomecánica. His approach combines the science of movement, tango tradition and contemporary creation.

Leonardo Sardella, a dancer, choreographer, teacher and DJ based in New York, stands out for his elegance, musicality and fluidity in switching between the roles of leader and follower. He has performed on major stages such as New York City Centre, Lincoln Centre, the Guggenheim Museum and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and is the protagonist of the Social Tango Project in 2025. A committed participant in Queer Tango, he is also the organiser of the Queer Tango Weekend Festival in New York.

Together, Augusto and Leonardo offer a lively, sensitive and contemporary tango, where musicality, quality of contact and freedom of expression become the driving forces behind a deeply human dance. Their artistic collaboration opens up a space for research and creation where tango is renewed without losing its identity, offering the audience an experience that is refined, intense and authentic.
