Daniel Godfrid
A renowned Argentine pianist, arranger and composer, Daniel Godfrid has been working closely with Lidia Borda since 2004 as a pianist, arranger, producer and musical director. He has collaborated with her on five albums—two of which won the Gardel Award—and on the duo EP Trip.
He was part of the Orquesta Escuela de Tango conducted by maestro Emilio Balcarce, a fundamental experience in his training within the genre. He also formed a renowned duo with harmonica player Franco Luciani, with whom he recorded Armónica y Tango (2006) and later the Franco Luciani Tango Trío (2012).
Throughout his career, he has performed as a soloist and alongside prominent artists and groups on stages in Argentina, Europe, the United States, China and Latin America, consolidating an international career in tango and Argentine popular music.
As a composer, he has created original music for films, including La Tigra, Chaco (2009), Pinamar (2016) and La Mujer de la Fila (2025), the latter directed by Benjamín Ávila and with music composed together with Sebastián Espósito.
At the same time, he carries out outstanding pedagogical work as a piano teacher at leading institutions in the city and province of Buenos Aires. In 2025, he was awarded the Martín Fierro Radio Prize for Best Weekly Music Programme.
