Conexión Piazzolla

Astor Piazzolla

"Conexión Piazzolla", is a show that revolves around the figure of A. Piazzolla, his music and a combination of real and fictional events. The work is divided into three parts without breaks, separated only by fades, which are repeated with musical themes and bandonion sounds.

The first part symbolizes the death and resurrection of Piazzolla, exploring his creative and executive soul with the bandonion.

The second part focuses on the contemporaneity of Piazzolla with the reality of his country, referring to some significant events of a tragic moment in Argentine society between the years '76 and '83.

The third and last part, entitled The Madmen of Buenos Aires, presents characters of fantasy or fiction that Piazzolla could have imagined while he was performing his music.

Throughout the show, "El Duende" stands out, a contemporary poet of Piazzolla, Horacio Ferrer, who worked closely with him, contributing largely to his musical work. The texts sung or recited in the show are written by Horacio Ferrer and masterfully interpreted by Guillermo Fernández.

The Quinteto Conexión:

Composed of talented musicians carefully selected by Guillermo Fernández, accompanies the development of the show. At the Tarbes Festival, the masters who will take part are: Nicolas Maceratesi on the bandonion, Melody Quinteros on the violin, Javier Fernández on the piano, Cesar Angeleri on the guitar and Gerardo Scaglione on the double bass.

The dance troupe:

Is composed of high quality dancers and also of extensive experience. Among them is the co-director of the show, LEO CALVELLI, alongside his lifelong companion (nearly 30 years of career together), EUGENIA USANDIVARAS.

The talented CLAUDIO HOFFMANN (a dance tango myth) with his partner CINZIA LOMBARDI (with great experience, also in other companies and shows).

The company also counts the young couple with great European talent and revelation, MATTEO ANTONIETTI and RAVENA ABDYLI.

Finally, two exquisite dancers that this show has managed to bring together for over a year: SANTIAGO CASTRO & LUDOVICA ANTONIETTI.

A show that will surprise you!

... and finally, the centerpiece. The singer, the musician and as we have already mentioned, the co-director of Connexion Piazzolla, Guillermo Fernández. An indispensable element of Argentine tango since the last 50 years and we have the luck, the technicians and artists who work with it, to know the historical and artistic moment that we share. We also want to share it with all of you.
