‘A l'arta balarta’ means by chance, by adventure. The string quartet chose this name, driven by an irrepressible desire to share and adventure.
For almost ten years, the musicians of the Arta Balarta quartet have been driven by the desire to introduce the world of traditional and contemporary tango, and to forge links with the vast repertoire of the string quartet.
For their latest project, they teamed up with the Argentinian double bassist Seba Noya and joined the famous collective Roulotte Tango to offer a new vision of tango in quintet version with double bass. Composer and arranger himself, Seba Noya has also been working for several years with contemporary composers from the tango sphere. The arrangements and compositions of this project immerse the public in a world of an Argentine tango revisited, creative, surprising and captivating, whose themes, subtle harmonies and complex rhythmic structures are animated through modes of play derived from the tango, so rarely used by string players.
The immense and communicative pleasure of the musicians to carry this project and their great complicity installed since their beginnings, embark the public in an exciting and unprecedented sound and human adventure.
